Roy Frank Shepherd

Asheville Roy Frank Shepherd, 60, of Asheville, met his loving Savior on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. Waiting for him when he got to Heaven was his parents, Wade and Bonnie Calloway Shepherd, and an infant brother. Surviving are his loving daughters: Anita Burnette of Woodfin, and Kimberlee Ball of Mars Hill; granddaughters: Brittney Shepherd, Angel Ball and Cassidy Ball; sisters: Naomi Davis of Weaverville, Elaine Baldwin and husband Richard of Marshall, and Frances Reed of Asheville; and brothers: Arnold Shepherd of Arden, and Billy Shepherd of Weaverville. Funeral services will be held at 6 PM Friday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with the Rev. Brad Willis officiating. The family will receive friends following the services at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Anita Burnette, 20 MidWood Drive, Asheville, NC 28804. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Saturday at the Calloway Family Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Eric Slaughter, Shane Ball, Mickey Burnette, Richard Baldwin, Don McMinn, and Jimmy Smith. Flowers are accepted and appreciated. The family would like to express a special Thank You to Johnnie Gentry and Dr. William Wharton, for the care and kindness they showed to Roy.
