Roxie Clark Young

Asheville - Roxie Inez Clark Young, 90, of 100 Riceville Road, died Thursday July 31, 2003 at the Laurels of Summit Ridge following a period of declining health. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. Mrs. Young retired from Taylor Instruments and was the oldest member of Elkwood United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Hattie Hipps Clark and wife of Clyde W. Young who died November 1, 1984. Surviving are her daughter, Marie Young Fox and husband, Wallace of Fairview; grandchildren, Beverly Freeman and husband, Ray of Asheville and Jerry Fox and wife, Pam of Fairview; 4 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at West Memorial Park with the Rev. Enoch Ball, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home and at other times will be at the home of Marie and Wallace Fox, 622 Brush Creek Road, Fairview.
