Ronnie Hollifield

Asheville Ronnie Eugene Hollifield, 72, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mr. Hollifield retired from Gerber Baby Food as a mechanic. He was the son of the late Gert and Dollie Craig Hollifield, and the husband of the late Frankie Hollifield. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Larry Hollifield; sisters: Patricia Garren and Gladys Moore; and uncle, Frank Peanut Craig. Surviving are his companion, Elizabeth Carr; sons: Mark Nanney, Michael Hollifield, Chris Hollifield and wife Tracey, and Gary King and wife Betty; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Stacey Harris officiating. The family will receive friends following the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215.
