Rodney Vardiman

Asheville Rodney Ralph Vardiman, 45, of 83 Northside Drive passed away Friday, April 22, 2011 at his home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. He was a truck driver for Republic Services, Inc. for over 7 years and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church where he served as Youth Leader and Sunday School Teacher. Rodney was the son of Lloyd James Vardiman and wife Martha Jane Vardiman and the late Hazel Ann Rice Vardiman who died in 1991. Surviving in addition to his father and step mother are his wife, Anita Rene Badgero Vardiman, whom he married April 3, 1988, of the home; son, Rodney Ralph Vardiman, Jr. of Alexander; daughter, Ashley Rene Vardiman of Salisbury; mother-in-law, Sandra Stapleton and husband Hubert; father-in-law, the late Fred Badgero who died in 2009; brothers-in-law, Frederick Badgero, Jr., Quinton Badgero and Chris Badgero; sisters-in-law, Melissa Badgero, Danielle Page and Brenda Badgero; 4 nieces and 3 nephews. Funeral services will be held 3 P.M.Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Naomi King and Rev. Roger Kuykendall officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 P.M.Tuesday at the funeral home.
