Robert "Pee Wee" Benson

Asheville Robert Delmar Pee Wee Benson, 61, of 169 Johnston Blvd, went to be with his Lord on Monday, October 20, 2014 at his home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was employed with Buncombe County School System and attended Deaverview Evangelistic Tabernacle. He was a son of Robert George Benson and Ruby Jane Waldroup Benson. Surviving in addition to his parents are his daughter, Penny Sue Benson of Asheville; brother, Ronn Benson and wife Sarah of Asheville; nephews, Ron Benson and wife Stephanie of Asheville and Bryan Benson and wife Elise of Hampton, VA and great nephews, Nathan, Warren and Jacob. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, October 24, 2014 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Jones and Rev. Homer Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 AM Friday at the funeral home.
