Robert Moore

Candler - Robert "Bobby" Richard Moore, 73, of Candler died January 1st, 2015 at his home. A native of California, he was the son of the late Alvin D. Moore and Marina Palenzuela Moore. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Emma Jean Morris Moore who passed September 26, 2011; son, Robert Craig Moore; brother, Terrence Alvin Moore; and sister, Susan Diane Moore Hedgepeth. Bobby was a graduate of Enka High School and a member of White Rock Baptist Church. He was in the Engineering Corps of the U.S. Army shortly following the Korean War. He married Jean in 1963. For most of his life, Bobby was an auto body mechanic. He also loved to work on cars in his spare time. Bobby had many hobbies and talents. He was a beekeeper, an avid gardener, and a brewer of beer, wine and mead. A gifted photographer, he was recognized for his flower photography. Bobby and Jean also enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping. He was always interested in learning, especially regarding scientific discoveries in astronomy and electromagnetism. Towards the end of his life, he re-created several electrical inventions, such as a static electricity generator and a Tesla coil. Bobby is survived by his niece, Jessica Hedgepeth Balkin and the son he and Jean raised, Paul Morris. He will be missed by his Aunt Ruth Robinson and Uncle Moore; Jeans sisters: Mary and Joyce; brother, Jimmy; sister-in-law Bobbi Bruno; Arizona relatives, Aunt Mary Mouw and Cousin Charmaine Rhodes; and his wonderful neighbors, Joanne Pearson and Carol Crider. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
