Robert Lawrence Harwood

Mars Hill - Robert Lawrence Harwood, 56, of 1484 Sprinkles Creek Rd. died Wednesday, March 19, 2003. A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Sylvan and Myrtle Duckett Harwood. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Tim Harwood, and his sisters, Gertrude Ray and Minnie Roberts. Surviving are his wife, Doris Shelton Harwood, sons, Gerald Harwood of the home and Roger D. Harwood and wife Cindy of Weaverville; grandchildren, Scott Harwood of Mars Hill, and Robin and Hannah Harwood of Weaverville; sisters, Trula Ingle and Sylvia Herron, both of Asheville. Funeral services will be held at Noon Saturday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Bob Hagan and Steve Rhinehart officiating. Burial will be in Elk Mtn. Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
