Robert Ellege

February 4, 1950 — April 10, 2015

Hendersonville Robert Dewey Ellege, 65, of Stepp Acres Lane, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 10, 2015 at his home. A native of Buncombe County, he had resided in Henderson County most of his life. He retired from APAC following 15 years of service and was a former long distant Truck Driver. He was a 1968 graduate of Clyde A. Erwin High School, was a member of the Edneyville Grange Branch #1051 and Leicester Bass Club, was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and a US Navy veteran during the Vietnam War. Mr. Ellege was a son of Pauline Mildred Parker Ellege of Asheville and the late Oliver Dewey Ellege. Surviving in addition to his mother are his fiancee, Linda S. McCraw of the home and her children, Joel McCraw and Cheryl McCraw and their families, including his special buddy, McKenley McCraw; daughter, Tammy Huffman and husband Travis of Mary Esther, FL; grandchildren, Robert Lee Huffman and Genesis Huffman; brothers, Wendell Paul Ellege and wife Jacqueline of Monroe, VA and Edwin Eugene Ellege and wife Brenda of Asheville and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 PM Monday, April 13, 2015 at Trinity Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held following the visitation at 1 PM Monday at the church with Rev. Chad Ellege, Rev. Allen Rash and Rev. Jacob Ellege officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Tracy Grove Rd in Hendersonville with Rev. Bryan Melton officiating and military graveside rites to be conducted by the US Navy and the Henderson County Honor Guard.
