Robert "Bob" Melton, Sr.

Asheville - Robert “Bob” Thomas Melton, Sr., 83, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 23, 2022, at the Elizabeth House. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired in 2001 from White & Williams Heating & Air Conditioning following 8 years of service and formerly was employed with Rogers Plumbing and Heating for over 30 years. Mr. Melton was a son of the late Ralph Melton, Sr. and Mae Thorne Sams Melton and husband of Barbara “Jean” Melton who died February 8, 2020. Surviving are his sons, Rodney D. Melton and wife, Ruth of Columbus and Robert “Bobby” Thomas Melton, Jr. and wife, Annette of Asheville; granddaughter, Amanda Goodrich and husband, Robert and granddaughter, Grace Melton, who was the apple of his eye; brother, Russell Melton of Asheville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, May 29, 2022, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Rev. Jimmy Page and his son, Rodney D. Melton officiating. Burial will follow in Sky View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 PM Sunday prior to services at the funeral home.
