Richard M. "Dick" Booher

Arden – Richard Miller “Dick” Booher, 84, of 149 Weston Road, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at his residence.

Mr. Booher was a native of Bristol, TN and a resident of the Asheville area for most of his life. He was the son of the late John Blevins Booher and Gladys Elizabeth Miller Booher and was also preceded in death by his son, Richard Miller Booher, Jr.

He was a Corporate Pilot, flying various aircrafts, for over 60 years and was a member of the Quiet Birdmen Aviation Club.

Surviving are his children, Mark Andrew Booher and Denise of Horse Shoe, Craig Booher and Angela of Fairview and Elizabeth “Beth” Booher and Tony Dobyns of Foley, AL; beloved daughter in law, Loretta Booher of Asheville; grandchildren, Andrew, Christina, Christopher, Jessica, Cole and Connor; great grandchildren, Ava, Olivia and Grayson; sister, Virginia Cobb of Asheville and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, May 4, 2023, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Waldroup officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following services at the funeral home.

A private graveside service will be held at Shepherd Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to PAN Foundation (panfoundation.org) or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org)
