Rhonda Downing

Candler, NC Rhonda Crane Downing, 59, passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 18th, 2018 at her home. A native of Mecklenburg County, Mrs. Downing resided in the Hendersonville/Saluda area since 2002 and had moved to Candler in the last year. She worked most of her career as a Radiology Technician before becoming an in-home health care provider. Rhonda enjoyed reading, knitting, making candles, and spending time with her family and friends. She was the daughter of the late Bobby L. Crane and Sue Hullender Crane, and the wife of the late Byron D. Downing. She was also preceded in death by her brother, David L. Crane. She is survived by her two sons, Austin D. Downing and Ryan D. Furr, her sister, Sharon C. Barrett, brother-in-law Craig Barrett, nieces, nephews, great nephew, extended family and many treasured friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Jump Off Rock in the town of Laurel Park in Henderson County. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
