Revonda Israel Banks

Revonda Israel Banks, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 17, 2025, at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital.

A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Blanche Revis Israel. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Christy Banks; and brothers: Gary Israel, and Ray Israel.

Revonda graduated from Leicester School in 1957 and worked for over 35 years for American Enka. She loved her family deeply and will always be remembered as the greatest wife and mother. She also enjoyed reading and putting together puzzles.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 67 years, William “Bill” Albert Banks; children: Debbie Sams and husband David, Jerry Banks and wife Shawna, Roger Banks, Rodney Banks, and special daughter, Lisa Banks; grandchildren: Brittany and husband Ben, Cody and wife Kayla, Selina, Chance, and Joshua; great-grandchildren: Tenley, Olan, Lawson, and Emberlee “Pumkin”; sisters: Jenny Lamb, and Shirley Littrell; brother, Junior Israel; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Newfound Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Chad Ellege officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Leicester Baptist Church, P.O. Box 331, Leicester, NC 28748.
