Reva Mae Briggs Snapp

Asheville - Reva Mae Briggs Snapp, 92, died Wednesday September 10, 2003 at Mission St. Josephs Health System. A native of Yancey County, she had worked for the U.S. Government at the Pentagon and was on the administrative staff for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. She also had worked at various retail businesses. She returned to Asheville in 1977 and she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Asheville where she was very active in the Jubilee Choir and she was active in her family. She was a daughter of the late Garrett C. and Mattie Ferguson Briggs and the wife of the late Walter Snapp. She was also preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters. Surviving are 8 nieces and nephews and a number of great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Clark Sorrells officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery . The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
