Old Fort - Rev. James Allen Mason, 59, of 188 Triton Way went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ Monday July 26, 2004 after an extended illness. A native of Alexander, he had resided in Old Fort for the past 8 years and was a member of Catawba Falls Baptist Church. He was a Vietnam Era veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a son of the late Lawrence A. Mason , Sr. and Oma Mae Mason. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Becky Mason of the home; daughters, Faith Reems of Swannanoa, Debi Burchette of Fairview, Jean Underwood of Marion and Darlene Cook of Marion; son, Samuel Mason of Old Fort; sister, Wilma Kinder of Lakeland, Fl.; Twin Brother, Albert Mason of Asheville; brothers, Leslie Mason and Gerald Mason both of Lakeland, Fl.; 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. Phillip Wishon and Marvin Watts officiating. Burial will be in Alexander Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Donald Burchette officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Goodnight, Daddy.
