OLD FORT - REUBEN CRIGGER, SR., 58, OF LOT 33 TWIN LAKES DIED WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 18, 2000 IN ASHEVILLE AFTER AN EXTENDED ILLNESS. A NATIVE OF BUNCOMBE COUNTY , WHERE HE HAD LIVED MOST OF HIS LIFE. HE WAS OWNER AND OPERATOR OF REUBENS SMALL ENGINE REPAIR AND WAS A TRUCK DRIVER. HE WAS A MEMBER OF TRINITY BAPTIST CHURCH. HE WAS THE SON OF LILLIE BELLE DAVIS CRIGGER OF ASHEVILLE AND THE LATE EDGAR LEE CRIGGER. HE IS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS SISTER, MARTHA SIMMONS AND LIFE LONG COMPANION, PATRICIA ANN SWANN WHO DIED OCTOBER 14, 2000. SURVIVING IN ADDITION TO HIS MOTHER ARE HIS SON, REUBEN CRIGGER, JR. AND WIFE CHRISTY; DAUGHTERS TRACEY CRIGGER AND SPECIAL FRIEND CHUCK ATKINS OF ASHEVILLE, TERESA ALLEN AND HUSBAND KEITH OF WEAVERVILLE AND AMANDA CRIGGER AND SPECIAL FRIEND JOHN ROACH OF ASHEVILLE; SISTERS RUTH MARLER AND HUSBAND JOHNNY AND EVELYN PARKER AND HUSBAND BILL ALL OF CANDLER AND DOTTIE PRESSLEY OF ASHEVILLE; 6 GRANDCHILDREN, 8 NIECES AND NEPHEWS, 13 GREAT NIECES AND NEPHEWS; UNCLE PAUL DAVIS AND AUNT LOUISE PEGG. FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD SATURDAY AT 2:00 P.M. IN THE ANDERS-RICE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL WITH THE REV. STEVE BROCKWELL OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE IN GREEN HILLS CEMETERY. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS FRIDAY FROM 7 TO 9:00 P.M. AT ANDERS-RICE FUNERAL HOME.
