Rebecca Taylor Travis

March 22, 1946 — September 27, 2001

CANDLER - Rebecca Sue Taylor Travis, 55, of 105 Queen Road died Thursday September 27, 2001 at her home. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was formerly employed as the human resources manager for Perry Alexander Construction Co. and was a graduate of Mars Hill College. She was a member of Mills River Presbyterian Church and had serves a church organist for 40 years at Oak Hill United Methodist Church. She was a daughter of Ruby Murphy Taylor of Mills River and the late Robert Taylor. In addition to her mother she was also survived by her husband, Louis Travis of the home; sons, Will Rice of Camden, S.C., Jason Rice of Skyland and Keith Rice of Candler; stepdaughters, Monica Beck of Hendersonville and Myra Cook of Burlington; sister, Joy Saunooke of Mills River and 9 grandchildren. Graveside services were held Saturday September 29, 2001 at Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Rev. Randall Boggs of Mills River Presbyterian Church officiating.
