Raymond Pinner

Tallahassee, FL Raymond Jackson Pinner, 84, passed away Monday, June 27, 2011 in Crawfordville, Florida. Mr. Pinner was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County. He retired from the US Post Office following 35 years of service as a Letter Carrier, formerly attended the Asheville Weslyan Church, Pole Creek Baptist Church and Crossroads Assembly of God and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a son of the late Roy Avon Pinner and Sadie Lee Garland Pinner and also preceded in death by his sister, Clara Bradford and brother, Edwin F. Pinner. Surviving are his beloved wife, Judith Gail Tallent Pinner of the home; sons, Michael Pinner of Unicoi, TN and Terry Pinner of Candler; step-sons, Ray Putnam of Headland, ALA. and Jeffrey Putnam of Tallahasee, FL.; step daughters, Teresa Putnam of Winder, GA and Sheila Denise Banks of Spruce Pine; granddaughter, Brittany Pinner of Asheville; sisters, Betty Allen of Romney, WV and Mary Sue Foster of Rosedale, MD and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Rash officiating. Committal services will be held 12 Noon Friday at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 AM Friday at the funeral home.
