Hendersonville - Raymond Maurice Lance, 59 of 239 Carolina Circle went home to be with the Lord Thursday May 16, 2002 at the Elizabeth House. A native of Buncombe county, he had lived in Henderson County since 1980 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a son of the late Frank Boyce and Robena Ester Cabe Lance and was also preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn L. Hamlin. Surviving are his wife, Belva Mae Lance of the home; daughters, Beverly S. Welch and husband Richard of Etowah, Sandy G. Kelly and husband Stan of Alabama and Joan Lance and Eddie Pulliam of Hendersonville; sisters, Wanda Fender of Marshall and Jean Donati and husband James of Asheville; brothers, Kenneth Lance and wife Lucy of Asheville and Jimmy Lance and wife Sue of Candler; brother-in-law, Jim Hamlin of Averys Creek; 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and Shelby on the way and devoted nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Glacken officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with military graveside rites conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Volunteer Memorial Team.
