Raymond Maurice Lance

December 10, 1942 — May 16, 2002

Hendersonville - Raymond Maurice Lance, 59 of 239 Carolina Circle went home to be with the Lord Thursday May 16, 2002 at the Elizabeth House. A native of Buncombe county, he had lived in Henderson County since 1980 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a son of the late Frank Boyce and Robena Ester Cabe Lance and was also preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn L. Hamlin. Surviving are his wife, Belva Mae Lance of the home; daughters, Beverly S. Welch and husband Richard of Etowah, Sandy G. Kelly and husband Stan of Alabama and Joan Lance and Eddie Pulliam of Hendersonville; sisters, Wanda Fender of Marshall and Jean Donati and husband James of Asheville; brothers, Kenneth Lance and wife Lucy of Asheville and Jimmy Lance and wife Sue of Candler; brother-in-law, Jim Hamlin of Averys Creek; 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and Shelby on the way and devoted nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Glacken officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with military graveside rites conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Volunteer Memorial Team. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to: Elizabeth House, 511 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC. 28731.
