Ray Junior King

Leicester - Ray Junior King, 58, of 263 Dix Creek #2 died Thursday, January 10, 2002 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was a native of Yancey County and had lived for most of his life in Buncombe County. He was employed by Carolina Plumbing as a carpenter. Mr. King was the son of Earl Mitchell King of Swannanoa and the late Lillie Mae Byrd Grindstaff. Surviving in addition to his father are his daughters, Heather Roberts and husband Tim of Leicester, Mary Lou Caldwell and Barbara Gail King; son, David King of Alexander; sister, Wanda Towe and husband Bobby of Candler; brothers, David King of Alexander and Raymond King and wife, Marcia of Swannanoa; 9 grandchildren; 7 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Saturday at Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Alexander with the Revs. Joe Honeycutt and Jeff Haney officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Fred Smith, David Young, Kevin Reeves, Bobby Roberts, Kenneth Holbert, and Steven King. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Saturday at the church.
