Ray Bill Williams

Asheville - Ray Bill Williams, 72, of 7 Warren Avenue died Friday, June 4, 2004 at his residence after a short illness. A native of Rutherford County, he resided in Buncombe County for most of his life. He attended Covenant Community UMC and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. Mr. Williams was the son of the late James Madison Williams and Clara Ethel Page Williams and he was also preceded in death by his 12 brothers and sisters. Surviving are his wife of 47 1/2 years, Roberta Penny Williams of the home; daughters, Linda Lee Karrigan of Jacksonville, FL and Donna Ray Prinz and husband D. Keith Prinz of Asheville; son, Charles Gordon Jones and wife Brenda of Montgomery, AL; grandchildren, Kimberly McDonald, Brian McDonald, Heather McDonald, Michael McDonald, William Jones, David Jones, and Joshua Prinz; 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Sunday at Covenant Community UMC with Pastor Buzz Scott officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oakley. Pallbearers will be George Williams, Tommy Williams, Joe Williams, Joshua Prinz, Bobby Payne, Keith Prinz, Brian McDonald and Billy Spalwn.
