Ralph King

Candler - Ralph Crawford King, 87, of 1 Jugtown Road passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Asheville V.A. Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, he had resided in Buncombe County most of life. He was a truck driver and a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. King was the son of the late Crawford C. King and Carrie Genevia Rhodamer King and husband of the late Clara Bernice Lewis King. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Robert Glen King and Ricky King. Surviving are his daughter, Hazel Rathbone; sons, Frank King and Jerry King; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and many special friends, including Etta Rogers and Mary Noles. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Friday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Edwin Ellege officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with military graveside rites conducted by Buncombe County Veterans Memorial Team. The family will receive friends 1 to 2 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
