Rachel Belle Keith Raines

Arden Rachel Belle Keith Raines, 73, of 1 Hidden Creek Drive went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 30, 2013 at her home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired from the Charles George VA Medical Center after 20+ years of service and following her retirement, she worked at the Skyland McDonalds as a biscuit maker. Mrs. Raines was a daughter of the late Thomas David Keith and Viola Mae Shook Keith and was also preceded in death by her grandchildren, Tommy and Brandalon Raines and sister, Mary Etta Jacobs. Surviving are her husband of over 50 years, Rev. Howard Raines of the home; children, Tim Raines and wife Lynne of Candler, Rebecca Johnston and husband Hugh of Brevard and Keith Raines and wife Kim of Greeneville, TN; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Buckner of Arden and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, October 3, 2013 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Johney Lynn Raines officiating. Burial will follow in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
