Phillip Patrick "Pat" Burnette

Asheville Phillip Patrick Pat Burnette, 74, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 28th, 2018 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. He was a son of the late Oran Lipe Burnette and Mable Lenoir Farmer Burnette. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Suzie Paquette. Pat was a U.S. Marine Vietnam Veteran and a member of Lake Hills Church. He worked as a Conductor for Norfolk Southern Railroad for 30 years before retiring in 2000. He loved fishing and spending time outdoors. Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Darlene Smith Burnette; children: Kimberly Ann Snyder and husband Stacey of Haywood County, Phillip Patrick Burnette, Jr. of Spartanburg, SC, Rosanne Theresa Burke and husband John of Wake Forest, and Stephen Michael Burnette and wife Carla of Leicester; step-daughter, Melissa Anne Hensley of Asheville; brother, Michael Burnette and wife Carol of Philadelphia, PA; brother-in-law, Edward Paquette and wife Barbara of Candler; 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM Monday, December 3, 2018, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Danny Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with Honors by the U.S. Marine Corps. The family will receive friends from 11 AM till 12:15 PM Monday at the funeral home.
