Philip Robert Beadnell

February 13, 1924 — September 30, 2002

Asheville - Philip Robert Beadnell, 78, died Monday September 30, 2002 at Emerald Ridge Rehabilitation Center. He was a native of Edgewood, Pennsylvania, and had lived in Orlando, Florida for 32 years before moving to Asheville in 1992. Mr. Beadnell had been a resident of Emerald Ridge Rehabilitation Center since October, 1994. He was the son of the late Bert and Jeanette Hamilton Beadnell of Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Marjorie Varner Beadnell, in 1998. He is survived by his son, Robert P. Beadnell and daughter-in-law, Nancy H. Beadnell of Asheville and son, William E. Beadnell of Orlando, Florida. Grandchildren, Angela B. Hodge and Marshall D. Beadnell of Asheville, Steven D. Beadnell of LaJara, Colorado: great grandson, Cody E. Hodge and great granddaughter, Madison S. Hodge both of Asheville and a brother, Donald Beadnell of Pennsylvania. Mr. Beadnell served in the U.S. Army, 983rd Field Artillery Battalion. He worked for American Truck Rental and American Terminal Warehouse as a mechanic, fleet manager and later became Vice-President of the company. He was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Gotha, Florida. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: New Bridge Baptist Church Youth Ministry, 199 Elkwood Avenue, Asheville, NC 28804. A special thanks to the staff of Emerald Ridge Rehabilitation Center for all the special attention, care and concern given to Pa over the last eight years.
