Weaverville - Peggy Louise Guice, 54, died Wednesday, August 22, 2001 at St. Josephs Hospital. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of Mary Black Godwin of Swannanoa and the late Cornelius Nip Black. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her son, Larry King; brother, Herman Black; grandaughter, Madeline King. Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Jackson N. Guice, Sr. of the home; daughter, Angela King of Marion; sons, Billy Darrell King of Kannapolis, Jackson N. Guice, Jr. of Dunedin, FL, Brian Guice of Weaverville, and Jeffery Guice of Marshall; sisters, Juanita Vick of Canton, and Dorothy Buckner of Asheville; brothers, William Black of Asheville, and Leon Black of Leicester; grandchildren, Joshua King, Zachary King, Samantha King and Elizabeth Beth Guice. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Emmas Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 pm Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Williamson Fund, c/o Cancer Care of WNC, 445 Biltmore Ave., Asheville, NC 28801.
