Peggy L. Shoffner

Peggy L. Shoffner, 84, passed away Friday, June 26, 2015 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Edward Jones and Lucy Wise Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl William Bill Shoffner; brothers: Edward Jones and Harry Jones; sisters: Betty Gaddy, Nedra Nolan, and JoAnn Jones. She retired from Roses Department Store and formerly served for many years for Sky City and later with Belks Department Store, and was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church. Surviving are daughters: Diane Shoffner and Pat Shoffner both of the home; son, Doug Shoffner and wife Heidi of San Diego, CA; grandchildren: Jake Shoffner, and Katie Shoffner both of San Diego, CA; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday at New Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Garry Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 till 4 PM Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
