Peggy Davidson

ASHEVILLE - Peggy Elmina Hughes Davidson, 82, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2009 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. She was born and raised in Haywood County, but had lived in Buncombe County since 1952 and was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Davidson was the daughter of the late Calven Cal and Seanie Seay Hughes and wife of the late John A. Davidson. She was also preceded in death by her brothers: Ralph, Perry, Albert and A.D. Hughes and sisters: Alma Randall and Wilma Radar. Surviving are her children: Harold Davidson & wife Cathy, Janice Coy, Calven Davidson & wife Theresa, Allen Davidson & wife Frances and Glenda McCall & husband Ray; 6 granddaughters; 5 grandsons; 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Lawrence Smith and Rev. Lanny Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8:30 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Calven Davidson.
