Peggy Allen

Ravenel, SC – Peggy Elizabeth Miller Allen, 93, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at her residence, with her three girls by her side. A native of Rockingham, she had resided in Asheville from 1931 to 1972, then moved to SC where she resided until moving back to Asheville in 2008 to be with her sister, Doris where she resided until 2020 and then moved back to Ravenel. She was a Custom Framer with several Art Galleries in the Beaufort and Charleston areas and was a member of the BPOE Does Drove #231 in Charleston. In her younger years, she was a former model with several of the Asheville clothing stores, was an avid bowler and later a member of West Asheville Baptist Church. Her life was dedicated to her three girls, grandchildren and family. She was a daughter of the late William Casty “Cass” Miller and Mary Rebecca “Bess” Covington Miller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Morton “Charlie” Allen who died April 4, 1998; grandson, Ryan White; sisters, Betty Jane Miller and Doris Rice and brother, Bill Miller. Surviving are her three daughters, Becki Sneed and husband, Ronnie of Charlotte; Toni Keenan of Candler and Cindy Wilson and husband, Harry with whom she made her home; grandchildren, Kim, Karyn, Jimmy, Jesse, Jennifer, Jaime, Harriett, Harry, Jr., and Wendy; great grandchildren, Haylee, Cooperlynn, Troy, Karmen, Kameron, Brandon, Brianna, Brooklyn, Austin, Ryan, Kaitlin, Emily, Hunter, Ryder and Charly Elizabeth; nephews, Bill, Bob, Bobby and Tommy and niece, Patty. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, September 4, 2022, in the chapel of the Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Stan Welch officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
