Weaverville, NC – Peggie J. Duncan, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 18, 2023, at The Greens of Weaverville.
A native of Stoddard County, Missouri, she was a daughter of the late Anna Laura Brown and Floyd Paul Duncan. She was also preceded in death by her sisters: Esther Zook, Clara Hicks, and Judith Richie; and brothers: Floyd Duncan, Jr., and Ralph Duncan.
Peggie moved to the mountains of Western North Carolina in 2008 to be closer to her daughter and granddaughters. She worked most of her life as a nurse, caring for others throughout her life, she loved people, and she was loved by all who knew her. She was one of the sweetest people you would ever meet, and she would always take the opportunity to make a new friend and share her love of Christ with you. She also enjoyed crocheting and giving gifts to people.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving daughter, April Collins and wife Christine; granddaughters: Megan Joyce McCracken (Damien Ferguson), and Treva Nicole McCracken; step-granddaughter, Madison Dillner; brothers: Wayne Duncan, Bill Duncan and wife Lynn, and Richard Duncan and wife Linda; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A private service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date in Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to her church, First Pentecost Church, 509 Poplar Street, Morehouse, MO 63868.
Anders-Rice Funeral Home is honored to serve the Duncan family.
