Asheville – Pauline C. Dryman, of Asheville, lost her brave battle to Lewy Body Dementia and went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 12, 2021. She was 86 years old. Mrs. Dryman was a graduate of Dana High School. During her life, she worked hard and retired from Bellsouth and Mission Hospitals as a switchboard operator. She continued to work after her retirement, her last job being at the Bojangles in Candler, where she was lovingly called “Hollywood” and loved by all. Mrs. Dryman was the beloved daughter of Ralph Clayton and Jessie Clayton Cagle, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Amos Dryman; and brother, Preston Clayton. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Allison (Keith) of Gray, TN; granddaughter, Jennifer Peek of Asheville; step-granddaughter, April Whitaker (Ty) and step-great-granddaughter, Maddie Whitaker, all of Burnsville; brothers: Harold Clayton (Anna) of Little River, SC and Eddie Clayton (Donna) of Hendersonville; and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by all. A Celebration of Mrs. Dryman’s Life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 30, 2021 in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Her family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
