Asheville - Patsy Ann Joyce King, 59, (2 Timothy 4:7) I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: of 60 1/2 Hi Alta Ave., died Thursday August 15, 2002 at McDowell Hospital after an extended illness. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She was a member of Cedar Hill Freewill Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and worked with the youth. She was a daughter of Mary Lee Joyce of Asheville and the late Dan Gilbert Joyce. Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her sons, Randy King and wife, Vickie and Ronnie King and wife, Deborah all of Candler; daughter, Karen Michele Childers and husband, Kevin of Candler; sisters, Brenda Rathbone and husband, Warren G. of Leicester, Susan Raymer and husband, Tom and Tommie Carter and husband Billy of Asheville; brother, Gilbert Joyce and wife, Nancy of Alexander; 8 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and lots of children from the church. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Hill Freewill Baptist Church with Revs. Brian Bishop and Bud Fish officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
