Patricia “Shirley” Elizabeth Warren Proffitt, 81, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 10, 2025, at the CarePartners Solace Center.
A native of Asheville, she was a daughter of the late Berlin Wilson Warren and Lucille “Lucy” Whitted Warren, and wife of 60 years to the late Wiley “Gene” Proffitt who passed away May 24, 2023. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Christine Howell, Joseph Benjamin “J.B.” Warren, Clyde Warren, and Aline Lance.
Shirley loved and cherished her grand kids. She also enjoyed painting and writing in her later years, which she loved to share with her family.
Surviving are her daughters: Katrina Jean P. Evans and husband Matthew Bridges, Angela Marie Proffitt Cathcart, and Teresa Gail Proffitt Thompson; grandchildren: Amanda Machelle Norton and husband Zack, Daniel Marcellus Evans and wife Amanda, Dakota Lee Cathcart (Amber Bissette), and Casey Gene Thompson; great-granddaughter, Kayleigh Beck; sister, Irene Kent and husband Roy; many nieces and nephews; and favorite cat, Wendy.
Graveside services will be held at 3:30 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2025, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 1 Chapel of Faith Drive, Candler, NC 28715, with her daughter, Rev. Katrina Jean P. Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 3 till 3:30 PM at the cemetery.
