Patricia "Patsy" Stines

December 18, 1951 — January 20, 2003

Asheville - Patricia Patsy Rodgers Stines, 51, of North Bear Creek Road, died Monday January 20, 2003 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She was co-owner of Low Rider Auto Sales and Stines Towing, member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 142 since 1997 where she served as Chaplain for the 2000-2001 year, received the Academy of Friendship Degree in February of 2002, served as Chairman of various committees and was active in community service projects. She was a daughter of Mickey Rodgers of Asheville and the late John H. Rodgers, Jr. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Rodgers. Surviving in additon to her mother are her husband, Jimmy Stines of the home; son, James Stines II of the home; sisters, Sheila Bryant and husband, Terry of Swannanoa and Paula Rodgers of Asheville; brother-in-law, Dwaine Stines and wife, Dorothy of Asheville; sister-in-law, Tina Robinson and husband, Rick of Asheville; mother-in-law, Nea Rice of Asheville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. Kevin Bennett, Rodney Melton and Stanley Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be Donnie Trantham, Chris Jordan, Dwaine Stines, Jason Stines, Paul Michales, Bucky Michales, Arthur Michales and Don Harris. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and Thursday following the burial, at United Missionary Baptist Church Reems Creek Road. Memorials may be made to her special son, James Stines II Trust Fund, c/o CC & B, 159 Smoky Park Hwy, Asheville, NC 28806.
