Patricia "Pat" Duarte

Asheville - Patricia Pat Ann Messer Duarte, 60, of 93 Wolf Park Circle died unexpectedly Sunday February 24, 2008. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a member of Grace Independent Missionary Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Charles Junior and Annis Ester Robison Messer and was also preceded in death by two sons, Charles and Ricky Sluder. Surviving are her husband, Joseph F. Duarte of the home; daughters, Stephanie Duarte of the home and Marie Otwell of Asheville; sister, Florence Ford of Candler; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. Doug Jones and Danny Overman, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
