Mullins, SC - Patricia Ann Hearn, 56, died Sunday March 30, 2003 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. A native of Asheville, she was the daughter of the late William John and Barbara Wilson Hearn. Ms. Hearn was a graduate of Lee Edwards High School, Memorial Mission Hospital Anesthesia School of Nurse Anesthesia and received a BS degree from UNC-A. She worked in Asheville hospitals during her career and taught anesthesia in the School of Anesthesia in Winston-Salem in the 1980s. In 1991, she and a partner, Janet England, moved to Mullins, SC and formed Pee Dee Anesthesia, practicing anesthesia at the Mullins Hospital. Ms. Hearn continued to work at Marion Regional Medical Center until her death. She served as President of the North Carolina AANA in 1985 and various other positions in the state and national AANA, the professional organization to which she belonged. Ms. Hearn was an avid fan of the UNC Tarheels. She was active in dog training while still in Asheville and owned Golden Retrievers, notably a Canadian Champion in obedience. Ms. Hearn is survived by her aunts, Helen Wilson Davis and husband, Carey of Asheville and Mary Jo Metcalf of Mullins, SC; a number of cousins and her beloved pets, Patrick, BJ, Erkel, Molly, Rags, Kajafa, Cowboy and Cherokee. Funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Harry Woggon, Priest-In-Charge of St. Georges Episcopal Church Malvern Hills, officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
