Pandora B. Smith

ASHEVILLE, NC Pandora Burleson Smith of the Brian Center of Weaverville went to be with our heavenly Father and Dance with the Angels Tuesday, April 8, 2008 following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julia Ann and James Manning Burleson; her husbands, Hiram E. Black and Robert L. Smith; five sisters, four brothers and three sons, Leon, Lawrence and Burnis Black. Mrs. Smith a member of State Street Baptist Church for over 25 years and was born February 20, 1904. During the 104 years that we were blessed to have her we enjoyed her flowers, cooking and most of all the conversations of the way things used to be. Surviving are her two daughters, Virginia McDaris of Asheville and Martha Lumston of Arden; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Haynes officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery with Graham and Robert Lee Haynes, Chuck McDaris, James Rice, Tim and Larry Black and Tim and Steve Gibson serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Our family wishes a special thanks to the staff of the Brian Center for their love, support and consideration to our family.
