Ora James Back

Ora James Back, 90, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at her home while surrounded by family.

A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Carroll Millard Sales and Janey Edney Sales, and wife of the late George Back. She was also preceded in death by her sisters: Martha Jenkins, and Margaret Sales; and brothers: Harroll Sales, and Carroll Sales, Jr.

Surviving are her children: Janey Hollifield and husband Corky, George Back, II and wife Jane, and Susan Back; grandchildren: Kelly Marlowe and husband Jonathan, Amanda Hylemon and husband James, and Timothy Back; great-grandchildren: Logan Marlowe, Hannah Marlowe, Isaac Hylemon, and George Hylemon; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A private graveside service will be held at Cane Creek Cemetery.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Carepartners Hospice, the office of Dr. Rob Steward, and Theresa Burleson for their exceptional care given to Mrs. Back.
