Ollie Mae Williams

Candler Ollie Mae Grooms Williams, 85, of Candler went to be with her Lord Wednesday, May 11, 2011. A native of Haywood County and resident of Buncombe County most of her life. She was a Private Duty Nurse. Mrs. Williams was a daughter of the late Chief Grooms and Nola Shelton Grooms and former wife of Paul B. Williams who died December 16, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Steve Eugene Williams and Jackie Lee Williams, four grandchildren and sisters, Margaret Conner, Minnie Belle Gillespie and Mamie Chrisman. Surviving are her daughters, Linda W. Ledford (Earl) of Candler, Patsy Diane Holland of Asheville and Nancy Marie Yearout (Ray) of Leicester; sons, Billy Ray Williams (Sherry) of Candler and Roger Dale Williams of Waynesville ; sisters, Evelyn Williams of Asheville, Thelma Stewart (William) of Candler and Norma Lee Medford (Lowell) of Canton; brother, J.D. Grooms (Carol) of Candler; 20 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Revs. Harold Webb and Dave Aumiller officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Alexander.
