Nellie Hunter Dalton

Fairview - Nellie Eva Hunter Dalton, 78, of 1313 Old Fort Road died Friday, August 9, 2002 at the Mountain Area Hospice Solace Center following a long illness. A native of Madison County. She had resided in Buncombe County most of her life and was the daughter of the late Harrison Lloyd and Lillian Rice Hunter. She was the wife of Everett Weldon Dalton who died June 27, 2002 and was also preceded in death by her brothers, Lloyd Hunter and Porter Hunter. Mrs. Dalton retired in 1986 from C.P. Clare after 35 years of service. Surviving are her daughters, Adale Harkins of Fairview, Kathy Glass of Oteen and Ann Stanley of Fairview; sons, Alan Dalton of Fairview and Randy Dalton of Asheville; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 4 p.m. Sunday at Cane Creek Cemetery, Fairview, with the Rev James Lamb officiating. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
