Nellie Henson

Asheville - Nellie Ann Cabe Henson, 95, formerly of 35 Sandhurst Drive, died Saturday, February 19, 2005 at Pisgah Manor Health Care. A native of Macon County. She was a daughter of the late Thomas Lafayette Cabe and Laura Adortha McCall Cabe and the wife of the late Carter Wesley Henson. Mrs. Henson had resided in Buncombe County since 1970. She was a homemaker, devoted mother and a member of Good News Baptist Church. Surviving are her sons, Wayne A. Henson of Cleveland, MO, Leonard Morris Henson and wife, Edwina of Candler and Farrell Eugene Henson and wife, Glenda of Gastonia; daughters, Shirley Ann Miller and husband, Chip and Malynda Caroll Morgan and husband, Luke all of Candler; sisters, Myrtle Lowrey of Old Fort and Bernice Davis of Bryson City; six grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
