Nathaniel "Little Bear" Lance

Asheville – Nathaniel “Little Bear” Lance, 40, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 11, 2021. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a son of Delores Ann Clark of Marshall and the late Douglas Junior Lance. He was also preceded in death by his grandfather, Tony Clark. Nathaniel “Little Bear” was a hard worker who was well know for his compassion and kindness. He was always willing to help others, even when it meant that he would do without for himself. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Amanda DeBruhl; children: Raven White Bowes and husband Vincent of Asheville, Justin Nathaniel Lance of Leicester, and Jasmine Nikohl Lance of Leicester; grandmother, Floye Clark of Marshall; grandson, Maverick Noah Lance-Branham; sisters: Felicia Gordon, Crystal Jensen, Samantha Joe King, and Tiffany Nicole King and husband Nate Smith; brother, Daniel King; and several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. A celebration of Nathaniel “Little Bear’s” life will be held at 3 PM Saturday, September 18, 2021, in the chapel of the Anders-Rice Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
