Nathan Bruce Payne

Asheville Nathan Bruce Payne, 49, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2008 at his home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he grew up in the Weaverville area and graduated from North Buncombe High School in 1978. He was employed for over 20 years with Winn-Dixie. Nathan volunteered to assist Habitat for Humanity through his current employer, the Eaton Corp. Surviving is his wife, Joanie Conrad Payne and daughter, Alexzandreia Payne; the son of Belva Green Crum and husband Bill of Weaverville, and the late Bruce Payne. He is also survived by his brother, Roger Payne of Asheville; sisters: Glenda Turner of Winston-Salem and Teresa Lester of Asheville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 6 PM Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ricky Wolfe officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM Tuesday following the services at the funeral home.
