Nancy Wilson

November 12, 1926 — February 27, 2013

Fairview - Nancy Elizabeth Morgan Wilson, 86, of Ramsey Farm Road, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at her home. Born in Buncombe County to George Purefoy and Carrie Ballard Morgan, she spent her childhood in the Cherryfield Community of Transylvania County, living for a time in Morgans Mill, which was built by her father. Her husband, Jack Wilson, was a Pearl Harbor survivor and a career veteran of the US Navy, and he and Nancy spent most of his career in Norfolk, VA. Following his retirement, they moved back to West Asheville, and for the past five years, Nancy had resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Nathan Ramsey. Nancy was a fun-loving, one-of-a-kind lady, who had many great friends and a loving family. She received a great amount of joy from her animals in her later years. In addition to her parents and her husband, Nancy was also preceded in death by her sister, Fannie Lee Wahatalo; and brothers: Oliver, Wayne and Bud Morgan. Surviving are her daughter, Robin Ramsey and husband Nathan; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Green Hills Cemetery, with the Rev. Ron Roberts of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the home of Robin and Nathan Ramsey, 26 Ramsey Farm Road, Fairview, NC 28730. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Asheville Humane Society, 14 Forever Friends Lane, Asheville, NC 28806, or to Care Partners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the Wilson/Ramsey family.
