Nancy L. Price, 70 of Asheville, NC transitioned to her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Emerald Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Weaverville, surrounded by family members. Nancy was a member of Oakley United Methodist Church. A Native of Buncombe County, Nancy was a graduate of A.C. Reynolds High School where she was an honor scholar. Nancy spent much of her life residing in Garden City Beach South Carolina before returning to Asheville to help care for her father. She was the wife of the late John C. Price and daughter of the late Frank and Cora Greene. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Susan Johnson and her great nephew, Jax Dotson. Nancy had many jobs through her life, ending her career as service manager for Alternative Housing Solutions. Her most beloved job in life was being a military wife, being a parent to her fur babies and playing 2nd mother to her four K’s. Nancy’s infectious laugh, pranks, and nicknames for people will be missed greatly. She charmed anyone who met her with her beautiful smile and her sense of humor. She used humor to put people at ease. Nancy was an avid reader, finishing 2-3 books a week. She was known for befriending cats wherever she went, making sure no cat in her presence went without food and water. Left to Cherish her memory are her sisters Sandra Dotson(Jerry) and Linda Marshall(Kip) of Asheville, NC a brother, David Greene(Pattie) of Asheville NC, a brother in law, James Johnson of Spruce Pine, her nieces and nephews: Rev. Kelly Dotson of Morganton, NC, Kim Dotson, Kris Dotson(Trina), Kregg Dotson(Melanie), Angie Greene, all of Asheville; Bailey Marshall of Macon, Ga., Carson Marshall, Tommy Johnson and Laura Johnson of Forest City, NC along with many great and great great nieces and nephews and her beloved companion kitty, Mr. Moon. Graveside services will be held at Gashes Creek Baptist Church cemetery on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Kelly Dotson and Rev. Stan Dotson officiating. Pallbearers will be Kregg Dotson, Kris Dotson, Tommy Bradley, Adam Sprinkle, Mark Sluder and Carl (Junior) Caughorn. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Oakley United Methodist Church, the Asheville Humane Society or Care Partners Hospice.
