Nancy K. Gibson

Asheville - Nancy Jean Kelley Gibson, 94, died Wednesday April 2, 2003 at Mountain Area Hospice. A native of Haywood County, she had resided in Buncombe County most of her life and was of the Baptist Faith. She was a daughter of the late Robert T. and Emma Jean Rhinehart Kelley and the wife of the late Arthur Haywood Gibson who died in January 1982. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Randy Gibson. Surviving are her sons; Richard M. Kelley and wife Carolyn of Asheville, Kenneth E. Gibson and wife Linda of Hallandale Beach, Fl., Harold A. Gibson and wife Carolyn of Asheville and Gary F. Gibson and wife Sue of Swannanoa; Daughters, Catherine Drake and Mildred Yates both of Asheville and Patricia J. Fisher and husband Howard of Arden; special daughter in law, Doris Taylor of N. Miami Beach, FL; sisters, Alma Drake of Asheville and Kate Nelson of Mims, Fl.; 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday at Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesville with the Revs. Charles Shelton and James Gibson officiating with members of the Skyland Fire Dept. serving as pallbearers and grandsons serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until 12 noon Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
