Nancy House Thomas

Nancy House Thomas, 76, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at her home while surrounded by family.

A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Edward McKinley House, Sr. and Kathleen Sherlin House. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Geneva Tensley Landers who passed in October of 2010; brothers: Lawrence House, Banjamin House, Henry House, Edward McKinley House, Jr., and Thomas Austin House; and sisters: Peggy Williams, Elenor House, and Sarah Jones.

Nancy graduated from Reynolds High School in 1965 and worked for Wilson Art and Westinghouse. She had great faith in the Lord and attended church most of her life.

Surviving are her granddaughter, Kathleen Landers; sister, Judy Noreen Neighbors; brother, Roger Dennis; sister-in-law, Jean House; special nieces, Patricia Martin and Virgina Rice; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, 86 Mt. Zion Church Road, Marshall, NC 28753, with Pastor Alf Miller officiating.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:30 till 2:00 PM at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of FourSeasons Hospice for their loving care and support given to Nancy and her family.
