Nancy Kemp Day, 77, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at home surrounded by family and friends.
A native and resident of Buncombe County, Nancy was a daughter of the late James Herbert Kemp and Rosa Lee Lance Kemp and wife of the late Dr. Bill Day. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Bill and David Kemp; and sisters, Marilyn Green and Betty Wilson; and grandson, Cody Day.
Surviving are her daughters: Lisa Day, Jeannie Fox, and Deanna Day; seven granddaughters and one grandson. A brother, Jim Kemp (Betty) of Muskegon, MI; and several nieces and nephews.
Nancy’s life verse was Psalm 118:24, This is the day that the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Nancy was truly the Proverbs 31 woman, she was a virtuous woman and the heart of Bill safely trusted in her.
She loved her grandchildren and her family, Nancy was a former administrative assistant at the US Federal Courts in Asheville. Executive Assistant to Congressman Charles Taylor of the 11th Congressional District. She taught school at Temple Baptist School, Asheville. Nancy studied and received a Bachelor of Education degree at Southland Bible Institute, Ashland, Kentucky.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2pm Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Trinity Baptist Church, Asheville NC with Reverend Dr. Ralph Sexton, Jr and Reverend Jody McGaha officiating.
The family will receive friends following service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, Project 2030, 216 Shelburne Rd. Asheville, N.C. 28806 or Southland Bible Institute, 5673 W. Southland Dr. Ashland, Kentucky 41102.
