Myrtle Murray

Candler Myrtle Lucille Woodle Murray, 88, of Candler, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Pisgah Manor Healthcare Center. A native of South Carolina, Mrs. Murray had resided most of her life in Buncombe County, and retired from American Enka with almost fifty years of service. She was a faithful member of over 60 years of Deaverview Baptist Church, where she served in several ministries, including the GA Girls. Mrs. Murray was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be greatly missed. She longed to go to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her husband of 63 years, George Murray, who passed away in 2012. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bessie Woodle. Surviving are her son, Glenn Murray; daughter, Debbie Bradley and husband Ross; and grandchildren: Joshua Hathaway and wife Jennifer, and Jason Murray. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gary Odom officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 2:30 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Pisgah Manor Healthcare Center for the exceptional loving care that was shown to both Myrtle and George during their stay there.
