Myrtle Lamons Banks

Asheville - Myrtle Mina Lamons Banks, 81, of Asheville died Sunday, February 24, 2002 at the Mountain Area Hospice Solace Center. A native of Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She had resided in Asheville for most of her life where she was a homemaker and formerly served in the Womens Army Corps of the U.S. Army . Mrs. Banks was the daughter of the late Alfred Roy and Mina Jane Hart Lamons and the wife of Parks Quillan Banks who died in February of 1981. Surviving are her daughter, Karen Banks Embler of Asheville; grandsons, Jody Fredrick Embler and Jeremy Parks Embler both of Asheville. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. with the Rev. Dorri Sherrill officiating.
