Myrtle Crandall

Asheville - Myrtle Lee Crandall, 84, of Asheville, passed away Monday, December 15, 2014. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Crandall was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church in Marshall. She was the daughter of the late Emory and Jessie Hall Shope, and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Crandall; three brothers and four sisters. Surviving are her daughters: Brenda Gaines (Scott) and Nancy Hugg; grandchildren: Penny, April, and Charlie; ten great-grandchildren; one great, great-grandchild; brother, Paul Shope; and sister, Mary Silver. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Shane Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Long Branch Baptist Church Building Fund, 2259 Long Branch Road, Marshall, NC 28753.
